Graffiti Art Workshop

16th May 2025

Artist in residence Amy Hutchings partnered with Grassroutes to run a graffiti workshop with some participants from Learning Partnership West.  The workshop was funded by Project Newton, with St Laurence Church.

Due to the practice of spraying paint, the workshop took place outside at East Harptree Pavillion.  Amy taught the students how to spray a blend and how to cut a stencil with spray paint.  With Amy's expert guidance, it was inspiring to see how naturally talented the students were, and some amazing artworks were created!  The students also seemed really happy with their work.

"I enjoyed being free to create my own design" "Loved the idea and the instructor was so helpful" "Great Opportunity for my son to be creative"

tOTE bAG pRINTING Workshop

22ND jUNE 2025

Artist in residence Amy Hutchings partnered with Valley Arts to run a free Tote Bag Printing workshop at East Harptree Pavillion, open to all ages from 6+. Celebrating the solstice and connection between nature and community, the workshop explored a mixed arts approach using print making, stencils, textiles and creative leaf foraging.

We had a sold out workshop with 20 participants, and a mixture of all ages, which was fabulous to see. Amy showed everyone how to print and stencil designs onto tote bags using a variety of foraged leaves, fabric paint, brushes, sponges and stencils. Each participant left with their own beautifully decorated and unique tote bag celebrating the upcoming Hidden Voices community play.

Thank you to Valley Arts for inviting the Arts Hub to take part in this fantastic project and for funding the workshop.

Unleashing Creativity: Emma Powell's  Outreach Workshop at East Harptree Primary School

october 2025

We are excited to share news about the art workshops that took place at East Harptree Primary School in October. Arts Hub artist in residence, Emma Powell, completed her outreach sessions with students in years 5-6, with Ms Tomblin overseeing. Emma conducted two morning sessions that provided students the chance to explore their artistic skills by creating clay owls and painting clay tiles. The project centred around the four owl houses of East Harptree Primary School, making it resonate personally for the students. Here is a photo of the poster created by Emma of all the clay owls created by the students together on one branch!

Inspiring Creativity in Kids: Highlights from Amy Hutchings Art Workshops at Pensford Primary School

October - November 2025

Art has a unique way of opening doors to creativity, especially for children who may not have had many chances to explore it. Arts Hub artist in residence Amy Hutchings ran art outreach sessions with students from Pensford Primary School, working with Otter Class students in years 3 and 4 under the guidance of Ms Bailey. These workshops offered the children hands-on experiences with different art techniques, sparking enthusiasm and new skills in a fun, supportive environment.
