We are really excited to introduce our two incredible new artists to the Arts Hub! Emma Powell and Amy Hutchings are the artists in residence for the Arts Hub 2025-2026 Project, funded by the Arts Council National Lottery Projects Grants and East Harptree Parish Council. Amy and Emma have been settling into the studio space since the beginning of March, and will be with us for one year. We are really thrilled to welcome them both to the community and see where this year takes them in their creative practice.
Planned projects for this year include Social Prescribing partnering with Harptree Surgery, Art Workshops with East Harptree Primary School and Pensford Primary School, and a 'New Mothers' Art Group. We are also thrilled to be part of the Big Arts Weekend and Exhibition again this year, which will take place 7-9th November 2025 - more info coming soon!
To introduce the artists to the community we hosted an Arts Hub Brunch on Sunday 27th April 2025 at the East Harptree Village Hall and Arts Hub Studio, open to all in the Chew Valley to attend. This included an open studio, cakes, bacon butties, tea, coffee and family friendly art and craft activities hosted by the new artists. The artists put on really creative and engaging art workshops at the brunch and families got stuck into leaf printing with Amy and creating googley-eyed animals in the Combe with Emma.
Thank you to everyone who attended our brunch and made it such a special day, we had a fantastic turnout and there was such a buzz in the village hall! ✨⚡🎨🖌️
And of course thank you to all those who volunteered on the day and donated their time (and delicious cakes!) to make the day run smoothly.
Follow our artists here and check out what they've been getting up to in the studio!
